Trying to Try but Failing to Do

try22

Today’s Five Minute Friday theme is TRY.

If you’re interested in trying it, click on the badge in my sidebar and link up on http://katemotaung.com. It’s a great way to end a week of blogging!

START:

I think my life lately has been defined by try but, unfortunately, not do.

I have been trying to be a good mother but have been seriously lacking patience and, quite honestly, desire to spend time with my kids.

I have been trying to re-work my memoir. Even though I’ve been doing it, I don’t think it’s any good. Sure, it’s a great story; however, as hard as I try, I think my writing sucks.

I am trying to blog on a regular basis but followers of my blog can see that hasn’t been happening. Part of the problem is that I’m not sure WHAT to blog about.

I originally started my blog as a place to talk about my experiences as a foster-adopt parent, find and provide support to others in this same boat. I also wanted to have a place to talk about my book and my writing journey.

As I’ve gone along, I realize I don’t want to pick a blog theme; I’d rather write about what I want to write about, but I know no one wants to read a blog that doesn’t have a consistent topic.

Now I’m trying to figure out how I should organize my blog. I think it will be two-fold, which is hopefully focused enough. I will talk about being a foster-adopt parent with its joys and challenges, my family’s journey, and my book (which is about my foster-adopt experience).

I try to tell myself that is good enough. It has to be because I am not sure what else to try.

END

  1. lol, that’s why I like fmf — it gives me something to write about every week w/o having to follow a “theme”. I like blogging about homeschool and ministry but don’t like being boxed in. So far, it seems to work!

  2. Great post! I’m a single woman praying about foster and/or adoption. God must have led me to read your words today. Visiting from FMF where I’m parked in the #11 spot this week.
